Distribution of Sewing machines and certificates to those students who are going to finish their Tailoring course by the end of this month.

Shoshana sponsored sewing machines to the women who are ready to finish their course. This would give them a possibility to practice more and could actually start working.

Padma, one of the students. 40 yrs of age.She finished her school. Married. Husband expired at a very young age. Has no children. Presently staying with her parents. They are old and sick so her brother's family is taking care of her. She has not much education so for her expenses she is working as an agricultural coolie. Her work is seasonal so she is out of work most of the time. Heard about the free training class from previous students, she joined the course. She wants to be independent and earn  her living without being burden to anybody.

Theresamma, also one of the students. 40yrs of age. Married. Husband is a security guard. She has only one son who is in school. She herself is working as a health worker but her job is only once or twice a month. she is associated with a Government organisation. She is payed by hours. Husband is the only earning member in the family and she wants to support him for their better living. She hopes, after finishing the training class she could help herself as well as it would be a help for her son's education.

Medical centre at Kodela Sivaprasad nagar, Narasaraopet.. One of the backward areas in need of first aid help.

Nurse Mrs. Padma has been working in this area for quite sometime. She has the experience of working with Government Organizations so she has proper training to give first aid help.

This time one of our friends Dr.Satish visited the medical project. He is from Narasaraopet and he is a remote medic. He is interested in our work and wanted to see what is going on at the medical centre. He gave some tips to the nurse for better treatment. Hope he will give his support to Shoshana in future.

Visit to Shoshana Medical Centre, Sai nagar, Chirala.

Medical support for weavers' colony. Started in the year 2006  in Epurupalem village. Government gave free land for the weavers and other backward communities to build houses on the outskirts of the town. Some of the weavers are in Epurupalem and some are in Chirala.

Sai nagar is also a needy area with different backward communities especially weavers. Around 1500 to 2000 people are living here.The colony is away from the town though it is in Chirala. There is no medical facility in this area. Even for basic medication they have to go to either Chirala or Epurupalem. Heard about the need in this area, Shoshana started medical support in the year 2013.

Buela rani is the nurse. The main medical centre is in Epurupalem and in the evening time she is giving medical service to the needy people here. Proper first aid help to all the   needy people  especially to children and old people when there is an emergency.

New group of muslim women for the tailoring  and embroidery course. Illiterate, married women mostly housewives. Usually they are not allowed to go out to work so they are only doing the household work and taking care of the children.

Heard about the free sewing class from the previous students and they were interested to take the class. After finishing the class they want to  work from home, also try to get stitching orders from the local market and there will be a possibility for them to be independent as well as support their families.

 Srivani the instructor has been with Shoshana for the last 14 years. She was a teacher in a school before her association with Shoshana.

The centre is located in a backward area so  all her students are from a very needy background.
She is very good in hand embroidery so all her students learn both sewing as well as embroidery.

Shoshana has only one medical project in Vijayawada located in Bhanu nagar area.
The local people who asked for medical help has been asking for support for a long time but since it is a developing city we were thinking of how to help those people.

Finally a church group in Bhanu nagar area  took the responsibility of supporting the medical centre besides Shoshana. .They are doing several social activities like old age pensions, help for students and widows, medical camps etc.

Bhanu nagar is not a real slum but they are many needy people here who migrated from different parts of the state especially towards north east for construction work. Shoshana arranged for a regular medical help with a nurse and free medication to all these needy people.

The nurse is Mrs. Grace Sandhya. She has the experience of working in different private hospitals. She is now working with a chest physician.  This working experience is helping  for her better service in the medical project.
