Pics from Shoshana Computer centre, Guntur.

Shoshana started computer centre in Guntur with the main intention of helping needy boys and girls in urban areas too.  Centre started nearly a year back with the help of some like minded volunteers who came forward to give computer education to needy students to those who cant afford to pay the high course fee for advanced and job oriented courses.

Chandra is the computer instructor. He has been working as a computer teacher in different institutions for the last ten years. The society and the instructor select the beneficiaries and for the maintenance of the centre they collect a very meagre amount as fees.

Pics from previous students who finished their training class in Shoshana sewing project,Bapatla.

Rajeswari finished her training class  an year back and Shoshana provided her with a sewing machine.

Her parents - Father had an accident and is handicapped . He is struggling to set up a small shop at home.Mother, domestic helper is taking care of the family.

Elder sister is married and younger brother is still in school.
With the training she got from the Shoshana sewing centre, Bapatla, Rajeswari is now able to help herself as well as supporting her mother in running the house.

Ammulu, school drop out finished her training class two years back and now with the help of Shoshana she started her own shop at home in Bapatla.

Father is a rickshaw puller, mother is a coolie. Living in a small rented house, it is necessary that every one has to participate in running their house.

She is happy that the training she got from the sewing centre is helping her to be independent besides helping her parents and her other siblings.

Pics from Shoshana Medical Project, Burlavaripalem.

Burlavaripalem is a remote village which is 4kms away from Chirala town and it is close to the sea. Shoshana recently started its medical support in this area and we have a regular medical centre for the last one year.

The village is surrounded with fields and  auto is the only means of public transport to the village and  they are available only in day time . Village still needs some basic facilities like proper roads, electricity and toilets. When we started the medical centre in this village, there was not even a small provision shop and medical facility was completely out of reach. Even for basic medication , people had to travel all the way to Chirala.

Now people are very happy that they have a regular first aid help in their locality. The nurse Mrs.Mariamma is living in this area for the last 20 years. She has the experience of working in some private hospitals. People could reach her all day long for medical help.

Unfortunately, three months back, the nurse lost her husband. He was a cancer patient leaving behind three teenage children. The nurse, Mariamma is the only earning member in her family. Inspite of all the circumstances, she stood strong and is  taking care her family as well as the villagers basic health needs.
