Name: Jyothi. Kattavarapu aged 40yrs. Married and she is a housewife. She has two children.

Former student of Shoshana sewing centre, Vijayawada. Husband was a daily worker.

Last year her husband died of Covid. Her children are still in school.  Being an illiterate also during lock down they couldn't find any work to run their family. It was difficult for them to find at least one meal a day.  Thrown out of the house for not paying rent.  For the time being staying at their relatives verandah.  When ever she comes across the sewing instructor she was crying for help.

The instructor helped her in setting up a sewing machine at home and now she is slowing taking in orders to earn her living.

She is very happy that her sewing classes are now helping her in running her family.

Thanks to all the donors who made it possible.

Thanking notes from some of the beneficiaries who got the sewing machines.

Post lockdown pics from one of our sewing projects - Shoshana Sewing Project - Gaddipadu, Guntur

Group of women who started their tailoring class last year. . Actually by now they should finish their course but due to the corona  effect, the classes were  not  regular so they needed some extra time to complete all the samples needed to start their own work.

The family members of the instructor as well as the beneficiaries got effected by the second wave of Corona. Fortunately no body died but financially most of the families got effected.

For the last one month things are slowly getting better and normal again. Still there is scare of third wave but as of now situation seems normal.

Corona cases are slowly coming down for the last few days. Little relief for the people compared to the last two months where the situation was very bad. Still there is lockdown with some relaxation in the timings.

Still there is fear of another variant called delta variant cases which are spotted in some states of India. News about the third wave is all over in the news channels causing fear in the people.

Presently there is some relief in the people getting along with their normal routines.

Sharing some pictures from one of our medical projects - Shoshana Medical Project, Prasadha Nagaram. Giving out the basic medication like multi vitamins ,fever reducing medicines and anti biotics for those who have mild symtoms of Covid.

People gathering at the medical projects is also less due to the fear of Corona cases.  Taking necessary precautions we are able to keep the centres open and provide the necessary help to the needy.

Happy to inform that there is a decline in Covid positive cases all over the state. Looks like the wave is slowly getting down. Not much rush at the hospitals. Of course there are still cases but comparatively not as much as in like last month. Slowly there is going to be relaxation in the lockdown rules also.

But there is news in various television channels about the third wave in the coming months which might effect the children specially. On one side vaccination process is going on. Around 65 lakh people got vaccinated in our State (A.P) so far for three crore population.

Coming to our Shoshana projects - Started working again after a short break because of the heat and also due to the Corona situation. Some of our staff and students also got infected and recovered.

The sewing projects are working with taking all the necessary precautions ,not gathering in groups.
One of our sewing instructor Mrs. Hemima in Vijayawada is going to the houses of the women from the present sew group, who has a sew machine to show them some cutting so that they could practice on their own in their convenient time  instead of gathering at the project premises.

Here are a few pics from the present group:

Pics from Shoshana Sewing Project - Swarna

Entire India is panic with the Corona cases.

Lot of choas here with the corona cases. Cases are growing rapidly day by day. There is all over on the news that there is insufficient medical supplies to meet the needs of the patients. Government is out of control in providing the necessary supplies. This is the present situation here.

We at our medical projects - giving out Corona kit which has vitamins, dolo, sinarest, antibiotics etc. We have pulse oxymeters at the medical projects - The patients can check their oxygen saturation levels.

Hospitals are full with patients and everybody is rushing to the hospitals causing scarcity of beds and other supplies.  The nurses at our medical projects are suggesting patients  the necessary medicines which they could use at home isolating themselves unless the severity is more and is necessary to admit in a hospital.

Facial masks donated by Help Organization.

Our association with Help Organization- Germany for the past one year.  Charitable Organization working for the medical needs of the needy people all over the world. Eye and Cleft surgeries and sponsoring medical equipment to the needy countries.

We received protective equipment - Covid for Shoshana medical staff last year. It was quite helpful for us during the Covid times.

Recently we received a package of facial masks for our medical staff.

On behalf of Shoshana we thank Help Organization for their support.

In future also we would like to work with them with the surgeries for the needy people here in India.

Corona cases are rising like crazy in India. Almost every household has corona patients. It is all over the news that there is scarcity of beds in hospitals, lack of oxygen supply, medication etc. Panic situation everywhere. Not because of Corona but many people are dying of fear. Lot of negativity is  spread about the disease. Hoping that the situation will come in control in coming weeks. With basic awareness about the disease and by following few precautions we could safely come of the disease.
