Project Pics from Vengal reddy nagar, Chilakaluripet.

The present group of women along with the instructor at Shoshana Sewing Centre, Vengalreddy nagar, Chilakaluripet.

These women started their sewing course in Feb-16  and going to finish their training at the end of the year. Compared to the other projects, the women from this area come from a very needy background. Some of them are coolies in fields and some are domestic helpers.
Their financial situation forced them to drop out from schools and support their families.

They have no regular income  since their work is seasonal. Our aim is to develop self confidence among them and to facilitate skills which would provide them an alternate income source.

This extra income would definitely help them to give their children a better life.

New group of women started their training from June-16. Coming from neighboring areas of Shalem nagar, heard about the classes from the old students. Few married women,  girls who finished their school  and one or two in college.

Having opportunities for jobs in Government schools, not only the uneducated women who are learning the course for their livelihood besides their work as a coolie, many needy women who have the basic education are also interested to learn the course in order to get placed for Government jobs.

We are providing them the training certificates after completion of their course. There is no mandatory time limit for the training. Ofcourse we have a schedule for 9 months to 1 year for the training but if they need more practice we are providing them more time so that they get perfection to work on their own.

One of the old students of this Sewing project from the very first batch. Happy to hear that she is running her own shop at home, also she learnt advanced embroidery work, painting, jute bag making etc. She invited to come over to her place to show her products.

Given a chance she would like to train the students of our sew centre with some handicrafts works, embroidery and painting specially bags made out of jute material.

The present group of women started their training from July-2016. Women from agricultural families, autodrivers and other small jobs. They heard about the centre from the old students. The instructor Satyavathi has some health problem so her sister who is also a tailor is taking care of the project of late.
