CDS- Shoshana Sewing Project, Gaddipadu - Guntur.

Our Sewing instructor Mrs. Nirmala has been a part of Shoshana for the last 25 years and she is our very first instructor. Recently she constructed her own house after many years of  hard work and struggle raising her children single handedly and working and now she is very happy to have her own house and a seperate room for the sewing project.

Blouse stitiching is a practical and marketable skill for women learning tailoring for a livelihood.  As blouses are in regular demand, this skill enables women to take up stitiching and alteration work from home and generate steady income.

For women with limited mobility, family responsibilites or fewer job options, it can be a pratical income source.

Majority of the women in India especially South Indians wear sarees for daily wear, work, festivals or weddings. Stitiching a blouse often has repeat business.
