SHOSHANA MEDICAL CENTRE - WEAVERS COLONY, LOHIYAPURAM.

The handloom industry in India is an ancient cottage industry spread all over the country. This is  a source of livelihood for the millions directly or indirectly.

The weaving process starts with tying and dying, hand operated looms, foot pedals to weave a saree.

The main reason for setting up a medical project in this area is mainly because of the poor economic  conditions of the weavers and  the health problems they face like  high and low blood pressures, lung damage, arthritis, neck and shoulder pains, poor eye sight etc because of exposure to harmful raw materials for long hours, poor ventilation and poorly lit work spaces.
