Lakshmi, student from Shoshana sewing centre, Nagaralu, Guntur.

Lakshmi

Lakshmi is one of the students of Shoshana sewing centre, Nagaralu, Guntur.

Illiterate woman of 55yrs of age. Single. She has 3sisters and 2 brothers. Being the elder one in the family , she took up the responsibility along with her parents to run the family. Now everybody got married, settled and she is left alone with her younger sister who is mentally disabled. All they have is a small one room hut. .She is living on small income as a coolie.  Health and age wise also it is getting difficult for her to work as a coolie, so it is very hard for her to run the house.

She is interested to learn stitching with which she could help herself to earn her living working from home so she joined the free stitching classes at Shoshana sewing centre, Nagaralu sponsored by Shoshana, Germany.

Lakshmi started her training as a tailor in Feb-13. It takes some more months to finish her course. She already started doing small samples. She has lots of hope that this training would definitely support for her self help.
