This woman named Koteswari was a previous student from Shoshana sewing centre, Venkatapaiah colony, Guntur.

She was the student from the very first batch at this sewing project. Completed her tailoring course(2008-09) batch.

Basically belonging to an agricultural family. Illiterate, daily worker. Husband is also a farmer.  Mostly we have girls and young women at our sewing projects with only a very few ladies who are above 45yrs of age.
At this age she wanted to join the free stitching class. Her daughter is married and has school going kids.
Elder son is recently married and younger son is an engineering student.

She is staying along with her family in a small house. Even though she is from a below middle class family she has not much responsibilities like other needy women in the centre since her children are grown up and they are self dependents.

It is difficult for her to work in fields at this age so she took up tailoring which she could as well work from home. After finishing her course she is working as a tailor at home and supporting her family.

All the women are married and majority are daily workers. All from the same village. They are making out time for the sewing training in between their working hours.
 The instructor Sivakumari  is from the near by village called Appapuram but settled down in Pedanandipadu because of her children's education.
She has been giving tailoring and embroidery course for needy women since 2003 and finished training more than 75 students in 8 batches.

These women started their training from 1st of this month and they are slowly getting along with the sewing machine and practicing the basics.

Sridevi at her house

Sridevi is an uneducated woman. Comes from a very poor family background. Married at a young age. Her husband is a A.C mechanic. Besides that he also works as a agricultural worker .Sridevi has a daughter and a son who are in school.
She is living with her family along with her mother in law in a rented house.

She finished her tailoring training for almost an year now. Before she was a daily worker so she took almost an year to settle down as a full fledged tailor. Even after finishing the training she worked as a daily worker in the chilli yard to support her family besides working as a tailor. Now she has enough work as a tailor.

She is very happy with her work and she thinks tailoring is a very good alternative job for needy women who work in fields to earn money. They could as well utilize their skill when they don't have work in fields.

Devi is the name of the woman, student from our sewing centre, Guntur. She was the first batch student from this centre. Started her tailoring and embroidery training in 2008 and finished her one year training in 2009.

Devi  is a married woman but she lost her husband at a very young age. Her husband was also a coolie.She is living in a small house with her daughter who is in school. She is a very hard working woman. She was  a daily worker before getting the training.

Now she set up her own business as a tailor, running a small cloth store with ready made stuff.

As a single parent she is working really hard to build up her business and in taking care of her daughter.
She is really a good example for other woman who are under training and also who finished their training.
