Our very first computer centre sponsored by Shoshana, Germany and run by local computer technicians with the main aim of helping needy boys and girls in getting computer education in Photo shop, Animation, web designing, Graphic designing etc

So far we have sewing centres mainly for needy women for their self help and health centres for all needy people in rural areas. First time Shoshana is sponsoring computer centre in Guntur for boys and girls coming from  financially weak background who has basic education but who can't afford to go for some advanced software courses.

The students will have an opportunity to work in Photo,  animation studio or Graphic studios.

Few pics from our recently started sewing project.
We have problems in finding a place for the centre. The local people agreed to allot the community hall for the project but since it is a multi purpose centre, it was difficult to run the centre there.


For the time being the centre is running at the instructor's house.

This group of women are housewives. Mostly school dropouts. All of them have small kids at home. For them it is difficult to go as agricultural workers. This training would be an opportunity for them to work from home.

Sewing centre working at Pandaripuram, Chilakaluripet town specially started for the tribal women. This area has tribal colonies , people migrated from different parts of the state in search of work. This area has a tobacco company where most of the tribal men work as daily workers.

Some of the women also work as daily workers in the tobacco company, domestic helpers agricultural workers etc.

Sewing centre started in this area in 2006 with the main aim of helping these women in their self help. This training program if used properly is a constant income source for them. So far 117 needy women got training in tailoring and embroidery from this sewing project.

Inuguration of  Shoshana Computer centre, Guntur.

 Very happy to share that Shoshana started its very first computer centre in Guntur.

So far we have Medical and Sewing projects. These projects are mainly for supporting the very poor community.  Especially for women those who are illiterate daily workers, agricultural coolies , domestic helpers etc for their self help and for their better living.

For the first time we started computer training for needy boys and girls belonging to lower middle class community especially those who have basic education .  Introducing job oriented courses  and other advanced courses like Graphic designing etc. Both software and hardware courses.

Shoshana provided the basic start up for the project and it is maintained by like minded volunteers who are computer technicians. Besides their regular jobs as computer training instructors in colleges they took time in training needy boys and girls in job oriented courses.

Selected few needy boys and girls for the first batch.  On last friday we had the opening of the centre with an introduction class.  Mr. Chandra is the instructor for multi media and graphic designing courses.

This is the very first group of women at this sewing centre which is recently started.

The instructor Mrs.Benny kumari has 8 students right now and in them half of the women are chilli pickers.  These girls are single, drop outs. They  are working  in the near by chilli fields to support their parents.

Chilli harvest season is going on so they are finding time to attend the free sewing classes as well as working.


Rest of the women  are mostly housewives coming from agricultural backgrounds. Husbands are mainly farmers. Having small children at home, they have not much time to go to fields. They want to utilize the free sewing classes.They are still  in the beginning stage but i heard from the instructor that they are quite fast in making samples.

The sewing centre is right now running at the instructor's house but very soon is going to shift to the community hall in this  area which is a multi purpose building which is mainly used for the community service oriented programmes.

Pics of new group of women . Running 16th group . So far 140 students finished their training program. Recent group started their training in December-14.

Centre has two instructors for tailoring and embroidery. Nirmala the sewing instructor working for the last 14 years and Kamala her daughter who is taking care of the embroidery group.

Kamala(Embroidery instructor) is also a trained nurse. Her present training session is going to finish end of May-15.

Next she wants to give medical services to the needy people.

Want to share a few pics from our recently started Medical project at Burlavaripalem village.

Agricultural village. The Medical centre is open all the time since the nurse Mrs.Mariamma is staying in the same house. Came to know from her that she has more patients in the morning and in the evening.

Mean time she is making house visits if there is a need to attend bed ridden patients.

Majority of the people are agricultural labourers. Most complaints are for body pains, Gastric problems because of their irregular eating habits and weakness.

Slowly started interacting with the village people to find out their problems and to give them general health tips besides medication.
