CDS-Shoshana Medical project - Rosy colony, Chirala.

Rosy colony is on the outskirts of Chirala town. Government provided free housing for the backward tribal communities but their living conditions are still very bad with poor housing facilities and no drainage system. It is a low lying area and if it rains then the conditions would be worse than imagination. People here are daily wage workers and sometimes if they are out of work, it is difficult for them to even get one meal a day and there is no question of having money for medical emergencies.

Majority of the people here are migrants from other states and are mostly waste pickers, rickshaw pullers, maids and sewage cleaners.  Children are still not particular about going to school and end up as waste pickers. 

Shoshana came to know about this area from a social worker and started a first aid centre in the year 2023. Also the area has no medical facility and quite far away from the nearest medical help so Shoshana started giving free medication along with free blood pressure and sugar checkups.

People have poor living conditions with no hygiene so they are prone to skin diseases and breathing issues easily. Along with giving medicine, the nurse Ms. Lavanya is also trying hard to give them awareness about cleanliness from time to time.

One of our recently started medical projects in the year 2023 for the fishermen community in Ram nagar, Bapatla. Mrs.Buela rani one of our senior nurses in association with Shoshana for the last 15 years in helping needy people with medical help in remote areas where there is not much medical accesss.

She is a trained nurse, had an experience of working in different hospitals for 10 years. She is giving out first aid help to people besides guiding them with hygiene and awareness for healthy living.

Needy people, having chronic illness like B.P and diabetic are quite happy for getting regular free check ups and medication free of cost.

Thanks to all the supporters of Shoshana for helping the needy people in remote areas with medical help all these years for a better healthy living.
